Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming To Nintendo Switch?

"Hogwarts Legacy" has finally been confirmed for 2023. The Warner Bros. "Harry Potter" game has endured a series of delays that the team attributed to wanting to give players the "best possible game experience" over the past year. Not that the discourse surrounding J.K. Rowling's transphobic beliefs – which developers have tried to mitigate by adding transgender character options to the game — helped at all. First it was pushed to 2022, now it's still worrying us into 2023.

"Hogwarts Legacy" has been announced for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. However, because the release dates differ between consoles, Nintendo Switch owners have been confused about the true release date for their platform. As per the official site, "Hogwarts Legacy" has three different release dates depending on the console. The "Hogwarts Legacy" team announced these staggered release dates in early December 2022.

Here's when you can expect to see "Hogwarts Legacy" on the Nintendo Switch.

Different platform, different date

"Hogwarts Legacy" will launch for the Nintendo Switch on July 25, 2023. The Nintendo Switch is one of the last ports scheduled to come out at about five months after the first wave on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its followed by the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases on April 4, 2023, two months before the Nintendo Switch release. Avalanche Software never explained why the release dates were staggered besides that developers needed more time to ensure the best experience for players.

So, if you want to play "Hogwarts Legacy" as soon as possible, it's best to play it for PC or one of the next-gen consoles. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until April or July depending on what consoles you have. Or, if you'd rather not support J.K. Rowling at all, there are plenty of other magical academy games like "Fire Emblem: Three Houses" that you could play instead.
