Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - How To Make Time Pass (And Why You Should)

"The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" is a truly massive game, just like its predecessor. Link has an awful lot of ground (and sky) to cover as he fights to find Princess Zelda and defeat the Demon King Ganondorf. It's not too surprising that he may want a breather every once in a while, a place where he can rest his legs and clear his mind before continuing on his journey.

"Tears of the Kingdom" allows players to do just that, passing the time in a cozy location. The easiest way to do so is to find a campfire, which will prompt link to sit with the press of a button. Then players can choose how long they'll be chilling. Link can also set fires of his own with a bit of wood and some flammable materials. The other option is for Link to pay to sleep in a bed, which can cost between 20-50 Rupees if Link doesn't actually own the bed. For this reason, making a fire is usually the most cost-effective option.

As for why you might want to settle in for a nap amidst all the adventure? Well, there are actually a few good reasons.

Link can benefit from taking it easy every now and then

Firstly, a number of the game's quests can only be completed by waiting patiently for specific times of day or night. For instance, some NPCs can only be met under cover of night, like Koltin the side quest that sets you on the path to collect bubbulfrogs.

Other times, you may want to wait out certain weather conditions or other environmental factors. Is that pesky rainstorm keeping you from scaling the cliffside you want to climb? Just plop down and wait a few hours for the rain to subside. Is that Blood Moon seriously creeping you out? Sit it out and wait till the sun comes back up. Alternatively, if for some reason you're getting antsy for the next Blood Moon (and the resets that come with it), you can speed up the in-game clock a bit by passing the time in a cozy bed or by the fireplace.

As you progress through Link's latest journey, you'll find plenty of excuses for him to kick back and relax. And now you know how to do it!
