Mortal Kombat 11 Unveils The Four-Armed Kollector

Ending the workweek on a high note, NetherRealm Studios just unveiled The Kollector, a combatant slated to appear in Mortal Kombat 11. The four-armed foe is the latest fighter to join the roster of new characters making their debut later this month.

Though the developer has offered little in the way of details, they've packed the reveal trailer full of hints about the Kollector's abilities and personality. According to the description, he serves the Outworld Empire, ruthlessly eliminating anyone who threatens his wealth and status. He uses an array of abilities and objects to secure this position, stowed in the bag strapped to his back. It appears the character is literally a tax collector, proclaiming "Tarkata must pay tribute" at the start of the video.

Based on his fighting style and stock of items, the Kollector seems like a jack of all trades who will require a lot of technical skill to master. At points he's shown wielding a chained weapon, a glowing lantern, and a variety of small blades. This equipment lets him fight at a range, while some manner of teleportation ability allows him close and dish out vicious combos with his four arms.

The Kollector's reveal follows in the wake of another powerful challenger, Elder God Cetrion. NetherRealm Studios unveiled the new character in a Game Informer exclusive on April 3. Like the Kollector, Cetrion appears to be a multifaceted powerhouse. Wielding the powers of earth, wind, fire, and water, she makes short work of series regular Jade before rupturing her opponent's body with a pillar of light.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23 via PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Based on the character selection screen, the game will feature 25 playable characters, plus Shao Kahn, available through pre-order. If this is the case, NetherRealm still has unknown fighters waiting for their time in the spotlight.
