Fortnite Announces First Duos For 2019 Celebrity Pro-Am

Epic Games has announced the first wave of duo partners for the upcoming Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am.

The tournament, which pairs professional players with celebrities from various fields, will headline on the second day of the two-part Fortnite Summer Block Party event. A celebration of all things Fortnite, the Summer Block Party takes place on June 15 and 16 at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

Here are the Pro-Am pairings Epic has announced so far:

  • Cloakzy and Dillon Francis (returning)
  • DrLupo and Jordan Fisher (returning)
  • Pokimane and Martin Doherty
  • Valkyrae and Justin Jones

Day one of the party will feature Fortnite's first ever Creative tournament. The competition will pit eight teams of four against one another on a new player-made game. Like the Pro-Am, celebrities and streamers will compose the teams.

Beyond the two main competitions, the Summer Block Party will include a lineup of other events and perks. "Meet more than 20 of your favorite Fortnite characters including Peely, Fishstick, and Brite Bomber," says the official announcement. "Glide on the island's ziplines, visit the Pirate Ship, or play a round of Fortnite Mini Golf. Get your fill at the Durr Burger, Pizza Pete's, Sofdeez Ice Cream Shop and other in-game eateries brought to life. You can even complete a real-world Battle Pass to earn collectible swag."

Tickets for both days of the Summer Block Party start at $35 and will go on sale soon. Registration for the pre-sale has ended; it is currently unclear whether prospective partiers who missed the sign-up period will still have the chance to purchase tickets. Fans unable to attend the event in person can watch livestreams of both days via Twitch, YouTube, or Mixer.

You can expect more news about the Fortnite Summer Block Party and Celebrity Pro-Am roster in the weeks to come.
