Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Gives You A Birds-Eye View

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive, beautiful game with tons of places to explore whether you're on foot or horseback. But some aren't happy with that. Some want to push the game even further. Some want to see what the world of Red Dead 2 looks like from the sky.

Now please don't be mad, but we're about to show you something really cool that you probably can't use yourself.

A YouTuber by the name of jedijosh920 recently uploaded a YouTube video that features a bird mod for Red Dead Redemption 2. A bird mod, you ask? Yes, one that enables those using it to experience Red Dead 2 through the eyes of a bird. You can perch yourself on a cliff and preen your wings. You can take to the sky and peer down on the various cities and towns in the game. You'll even attract the attention of bullets, because this is a model swap and the bad guys still think you're the enemy, even though you're a bird just minding your own business.

It's a huge departure from the way one typically plays RDR2, and that alone would make it worth installing. The problem is, we have no idea how you'd even go about doing that.

The hitch with this mod is that, currently, Red Dead Redemption 2 is only available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The versions of the game on those platforms don't support mods at this time, and to tell you the truth, we're honestly not sure what platform the modder is playing on. This iteration of the bird mod is definitely unsanctioned at this time, as it's altering game files, and is likely doing so in a way that neither Sony nor Microsoft would appreciate. So even if we knew how to get the mod (which we don't), installing it might not be a wise move.

Your best bet is to hope Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to PC so you can use all the mods you want. Until then, you'll just have to watch the bird mod video cross your fingers.
