Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Believe They've Found Princess IKZ
We're not surprised to learn there are still things hidden inside Red Dead Redemption 2. Now that the PC version is out, players can dig a little deeper into the game's files, uncovering secrets that Rockstar hasn't wanted to share. Like the story behind Princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister, who for over a year, could not be located. Until now.
We have to admit: the way players accomplished this was cheating. Because Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC supports mods, it didn't take long for people to search through the game's assets and find the one for the princess, who in the game, went missing 15 years prior during a royal visit and hadn't been seen since. Reward posters found in Red Dead 2 offer a $100 reward for information on her whereabouts, but despite a year of searching, players have never been able to legitimately find the princess and claim that reward.
So players used a mod to spawn in her character model. It's not the way anyone wanted to find the princess. But it's something, isn't it?
So here's the big question: if there doesn't appear to be a quest related to the princess, and players have never found her anywhere in Red Dead Redemption 2's world, then why does she have a model? The reality is, it's likely that Rockstar never got around to finishing work on whatever quest was tied to Princess IKZ's disappearance. The posters remained, as did numerous NPC voice lines related to her story. But when it came to putting a bow on the entire deal and offering players a fulfilling conclusion, it's possible that Red Dead 2's release date crept up too quickly for Rockstar to wrap things up.
Perhaps a future update will give us the Princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister story we deserve. Or perhaps Rockstar has shelved any plans for completing work on the quest. In any case, we now know the princess does exist in Red Dead Redemption 2. We just won't be getting that cool $100 for finding her.
