Things Keep Getting Worse For Ninja

Ninja is nothing if not ambitious, and it's safe to say that, sometimes, his attitude can rub people the wrong way. Take a recent tweet, for example.

"The phrase 'it's just a game' is such a weak mindset," Ninja posted last week. "You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you've lost twice.

He capped that off with the following message: "There's always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle."

You can see where some might view this as Ninja just trying to be motivational. But others felt Ninja was going a little overboard, and was all but endorsing the toxicity found so often in online games today. Needless to say, Ninja caught a whole lot of flack for that tweet, and it helped shine a light on him for all the wrong reasons.

And then things somehow got worse.

According to Dexerto, Ninja started posting some unusual tweets this past Saturday morning. One shouted out a seemingly random Twitter user who's since been suspended. Yet another took a shot at fellow Fortnite streamer Tfue. It quickly became apparent these tweets were not from Ninja himself, but from a hacker who'd gained access to his account. Ninja's wife, Jessica, tried to let the world know that her husband's account had been hacked, even claiming the hacker tried to extort the pair. Ninja eventually regained access to his account, deleting the offending tweets and posting a video making fun of people who try to hack him.

That still wasn't the end of the story, though Ninja likely wishes it was. Because the target of the hacker's attacks — Tfue — saw an opportunity to go at Ninja hard for a bunch of perceived slights. And Tfue did not hold back one bit.

"Alright chat, I woke up to a whole bunch of heat on Twitter," Tfue said in a video posted shortly after the hack. "Supposedly Ninja called me out and challenged me to a fight. I think he did get hacked, but regardless, this is something that I need to get off of my chest."

Tfue then spent several minutes railing against Ninja for trying to "tear [him] down" and even accused the Mixer star of trying to get Tfue "permanently banned" from Twitch because he was getting too popular. Tfue then challenged Ninja to literally fight him "in the ring" in a UFC-style fight, an MMA fight, or "whatever." The video ended with Tfue taking a shot at Ninja's Mixer numbers and saying "Fight me, bro."

The remarks from Tfue were obviously very inflammatory, and will likely have many in the Fortnite community scrambling to pick sides. For instance, has Ninja really taken things further than a friendly rivalry? And did the popular Fortnite streamer really try to get Tfue kicked off of Twitch? We can envision a scenario where fans of both will rally behind their favorite content creator, and unfortunately, one where those fans also trash the opposing streamer and his fans. What we can't see, however, is a fight actually taking place.

"I have no interest in fighting you @TTfue," Ninja posted yesterday, seemingly in response to Tfue's YouTube video. "I don't hate you, I don't want you to fail, but I also don't appreciate you using my twitter being hacked as a publicity stunt. It was a breach in privacy which nobody deserve to deal with, your making it worse for me and helping him."

We have to be honest: someone saying "I don't hate you" and "I don't want you to fail" is a far cry from "I really like you as a human being," so there could be some truth to what Tfue was saying about a rift between the two creators. With that in mind, then, it's unlikely Tfue would be all that bothered by giving the hacker some attention at Ninja's expense. It doesn't look — at least right now — like we'll see Ninja and Tfue settle this supposed beef with fisticuffs, just as Logan Paul and KSI have in the past. Tfue seems all too eager to take Ninja on in the ring; Ninja, however, doesn't appear to be taking the bait.

We'll definitely be keeping a close eye on both Ninja and Tfue in the days and weeks ahead. Something tells us this rivalry won't be cooling off anytime soon, and that the two creators will have plenty more to say about each other as time goes on.
