Alinity's Cat Finally Strikes Back

In a moment of surprise that may sit just right with her many detractors, infamous streamer Alinity received a nasty response from one of her pets. During a recent stream, Alinity was listening to Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing." As she sang along and began to build to the inevitable high notes of the chorus, one of her cats hopped up next to her and bit her right on the arm.

This was apparently a little harder than a normal love nip, because the streamer immediately stopped singing and held the spot on her arm where the bite occurred. The whole incident was captured in a brief clip, along with another one in which she apologizes to the cat for her singing and promises not to do it any longer.

For viewers unaware of the history between Alinity and her feline companions, this is a pretty funny little exchange on its own. For those who have followed the drama surrounding Alinity and her pets in the past, the situation feels a bit like poetic justice. If you have missed out on all of this business entirely, be warned there are a few unpleasant incidents to discuss that most animal lovers may not be too happy with.

Alinity is far from the first streamer to set a bad example on their channel, but she did manage to upset a good portion of her viewers when she was seen spitting vodka into her cat's mouth live on stream. In the clip, the cat reacts negatively almost immediately. For those who may not be aware, the ethanol found in spirits like vodka can be toxic to animals.

This incident resurfaced last year when viewers caught Alinity tossing one of her cats over her head during a game. This was done when the cat crossed in front of the streamer and she got frustrated with it. This was the final straw for many people and led to a formal investigation from the Saskatoon Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and calls for her removal from Twitch from other animal-focused organizations like PETA.

At the time, Marcus Graham, the Director of Creative Development at Twitch, said he wanted "to see a ban," but had no control over that aspect of the platform. Heck, even superstar comedian Ricky Gervais took issue with the situation, weighing in on the number of "stupid people in the world." Based on his Twitter profile picture, it seems Gervais is a big cat person.

Following the backlash for tossing her cat and the dredging up of the vodka incident, Alinity responded to the gaming community on Twitter, writing, "understand the concern and I am sorry for my lapses in judgement. I shouldnt [sic] have gotten frustrated with Milo, but I dropped him on the floor behind my chair ... The Vodka thing was well over a year ago but it was also a stupid thing to do." She later added, along with a video of her snuggling one of the cats in question, "I dont [sic] pretend to be perfect, and I will always try to do better, and improve myself."

Alinity also apparently changed the description of her Twitch channel to read: "I am Alinity! I love games and animals," which was quickly pointed out by skeptics on Twitter.

This wasn't exactly a response that was accepted by everyone, but the situation seemed to blow over nevertheless. The SPCA investigation concluded that there was "no malicious intent" behind the infamous cat-tossing debacle and cleared Alinity of any wrongdoing.

So, this brings things back around to the whole "biting" incident. Naturally, the reaction to the clip has been pretty immediate. People have screen-grabbed or zoomed in on the moment when Milo the cat made his move, and they seem to be living for it. Others have made jokes about the whole situation, with one comparing it to a scene of vengeance from last year's Joker. One user even created a fake Twitter account to post as Alinity's cat and is using it to pretend that the cat himself was banned from Twitch over the biting incident.

Others have been quick to point out that this is not the same cat as the one that was thrown. Still, people are enjoying the sense of revolution on display from the felines under Alinity's roof. The whole situation has been messy from the start, but if there's one thing the internet can rally around, it's celebrating when a cute cat gets their revenge.
