How To Level Quickly In World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands

World of Warcraft is one of the biggest MMORPG titles of all time. The mostly well-received World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion finally arrived on Nov. 23, 2020, leaving players eager to roam the lands of Azeroth. The expansion introduced a level squish to existing accounts — any character that was capped was scaled down to level 50. The level scaling did not remove existing power but simply served as the new representation of power. Players also do not benefit from the experience boost Blizzard implemented back in April 2020.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands also introduced Exile's Reach, a new starter zone players will want to use instead of the traditional starter zones. This move, among others, stemmed from Blizzard's desire to simplify the game for new players and remove the painstakingly slow progression of the older expansions. Exile's Reach was designed to allow players to move from one quest to the next with ease. Here's how you can take advantage of this, and additional features, to level quickly in Shadowlands.

Play it smarter

With World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and Exile's Reach, players should stay away from the traditional zones. The Shadowlands expansion should allow players to level at least 60-70% faster. The expansion limits the way that players approach the game. Unlike traditional zones, much of the delay in leveling was credited to the large open world and the overwhelming amount of possible exploration. Exile's Reach condenses the questing and the exploration into a much smaller timeframe — players can expect to complete level 1-10 in about an hour's worth of gameplay. Just make sure to play through the Warlords of Draenor expansion for 10-50.

Learn to ride mounts. Prior to Shadowlands, players were forced to level up to level 20 in order to utilize the mount feature. Due to the level squish, mounts can now be obtained at level 10 — mounts will drastically help cut down traveling time. Lastly, players can choose between questing to hit level 50, but spamming dungeons is the fastest way to advance. At level 50, you'll be thrown back into the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, and you'll be required to play the content as intended.
