This Is The Rarest Atari 2600 Game

Retro video games are some of the most highly sought-after items in gaming. There's no price that can be put on nostalgia.

Some of the most expensive video games to date have been from the Atari 2600 console. These vintage game cartridges can fetch a hefty price if the market is right. The games are typically dated and way past their prime, but collectors love them. The Atari 2600 was one of the first consoles that utilized game cartridges and had a massive amount of titles to choose from. With titles like Superman, the Atari 2600 produced some of the rarest games of all time.

Air Raid for the Atari 2600 could possibly be the rarest of them all. The game, published by Men-A-Vision in 1982, has become one of the most prized possessions in gaming history. The cartridge is very unique, sporting a blue coat of paint and a T-handle on the top. It is rumored that there may not be more than 13 copies remaining in the world — making it almost impossible to find.

How much is Air Raid worth?

Check your closets. If you happen to have a copy of Air Raid, whether it be in your basement, attic, or storage unit, you could be looking to fetch a lump sum of well over $30,000. The game, which is extremely rare, has ignited bidding wars that have skyrocketed its value to unprecedented numbers.

Don't let the opportunity pass you by. In 2012, Harv Bennet found a copy of Air Raid that had been sitting in storage for around two decades. The game wasn't sealed and had reportedly been played approximately five times. Nonetheless, the copy of Air Raid, the instruction manual, and the intact box sold for $33,433.30 on a video game auction site. Prior to this auction, Tanner Sandlin sold a copy of Air Raid for $31,600 in 2010.

If you're in need of some cash, then snag yourself a copy of Air Raid.
