New Mass Effect: Andromeda Details Revealed
New details about Mass Effect: Andromeda have been revealed, including new modes, features, and a look at the game's story.
According to GameSpot, the December issue of Game Informer gives us some more insight into the game thanks to BioWare. Crafting will be a new feature, allowing players to collect blueprints in order to make powerful gear. The narrative seems to revolve around new frontiers and exploration, so the ability to collect and craft new items, especially weapons and armor involving alien tech, only makes sense.
A New Game+ mode will also be available in Andromeda, giving you the chance to change your character's gender. Given the fact that you can play either Scott or Sarah Ryder, we take this to mean that you'll be able to switch between the two siblings at will. We're not sure how that will affect the story, but we're curious to find out.
The game's multiplayer mode is set to take place in the main campaign's narrative, turning players into members of the Apex Force as they fight back alien invaders. Classes will work off an XP and a Prestige XP system that will affect all of your characters. A multiplayer beta is coming down the chute, so interested fans will be able to experience the onslaught firsthand.
As for the game's story, producer Michael Gamble only said, "We want to leave the ending, and what we're doing with it, as a surprise. This is a different type of story. So it will be something different than the trilogy. We can't wait to hear what fans think." The original Mass Effect trilogy's ending(s) left fans divided, so we're interested in seeing how the narrative plays out and whether it will keep Andromeda from being one of the best games 2017 has to offer.
