Nintendo Switch Reported To Get Third Pokemon Sun And Moon Version

The Nintendo Switch will reportedly get a third version of Pokémon Sun and Moon in 2017, codenamed Pokémon Stars.

According to Tom Phillips of Eurogamer, sources report that the game is "already well into development" and "will launch in 2017." Given the fact that the Switch can double as a portable system, it's not hard to see a third Pokémon game on the home console. It's also important to note that none of the sources were named or confirmed, so you should take this bit of news with a healthy grain of salt. Still, Phillips reports that these sources have told him that development on all three games ran concurrently, so there are features from Sun and Moon that can already be found in the purported Star version.

The game was reportedly meant to be released in Summer 2017, but has been delayed to later in the year. We only have reports for now, but we don't expect to get any confirmation from Nintendo until January 2017, when the company said it would release more information on the Switch. Until then, we'll dive right into Pokémon Sun and Moon and hope that both versions join the ranks of the best games in the 3DS catalog.
