Super Mario Runs Hits 50 Million Downloads Milestone

Super Mario Run has been downloaded 50 million times since its release on Dec. 15 and Nintendo is celebrating with a gift to all of the game's players.

Tamoor Hussain of GameSpot reported that Nintendo's Japanese Twitter account tweeted about the milestone. Nintendo also announced that players will be getting 10 free Toad Rally tickets. These tickets are used to challenge other players in completing a stage and getting the most coins in order to attract more Toads to their Mushroom Kingdom. This should help some players expand their populations and net them more coins.

Nintendo has yet to release any numbers concerning the amount of money people have spent on Super Mario Run, but it's important to keep in mind that it costs $9.99 to unlock the full game. Hopefully the game keeps Nintendo fans busy while they wait for more news about the Nintendo Switch in January.
