How Long Does It Take To Beat Oddworld: Soulstorm?

Oddworld: Soulstorm marks a return to the strange corporate landscape of Oddworld, where the Mudokons struggle to free themselves from slavery. While Soulstorm isn't a full-on remake per se, it does retread familiar ground, making it an excellent chance for fans to revisit the world and new players to pick up the franchise for the first time. Oddworld: Soulstorm will bring a number of new features to the series, while remaining true to its original themes of liberation. But how long can players expect to work through the base game?

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, the game that Oddworld Inhabitants modeled much of Oddworld: Soulstorm after, took players about 15 hours to complete, but that doesn't mean that the new game will have a similar runtime. In fact, Oddworld: Soulstorm seems to expand on the ideas in Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus a good bit, extending the game out into a longer reimagining of the original content. If specific numbers are more your thing, no fear. Oddworld Inhabitants has revealed the length of its newest game.

How long will gamers spend with Oddworld: Soulstorm?

WCCF Tech sat down with Lorne Lanning, the creator of the Oddworld franchise, to get some answers about Oddworld: Soulstorm. When asked about the game's length, Lanning responded, "Depends on your type of gaming. The game will be about 20 hours first playthrough, but if you are an achievement or stats hunter, you can easily spend dozens of hours enjoying Soulstorm where our previous games had nowhere near the replayability." In other words, players can expect to be able to choose how long they spend in Oddworld: Soulstorm, perhaps even replaying the game in order to discover all its secrets.

When PCGamesN asked Oddworld Inhabitants how long gamers could expect to spend unlocking every secret in Oddworld: Soulstorm, the response was pretty shocking. Oddworld Inhabitants explained that, considering the complex badge system in Oddworld: Soulstorm, gamers might spend 100 hours or more playing through the game and earning specific achievements.

The varying prices of Oddworld: Soulstorm have confused fans waiting for its release in recent months, but the wait for the game is finally over. Players can pick up Oddworld: Soulstorm now.
