Marvel And Square Enix Tease An Avengers Project

Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix have entered a multi-year, multi-game partnership and have teased their first collaboration, an Avengers project.

Crystal Dynamics, known for the Tomb Raider series, and Eidos-Montreal, developers of the Deus Ex games, will be working on The Avengers project.

It's not clear what kind of adventure these studios are crafting, but the teaser gives us glimpses of Bruce Banner's glasses, Thor's hammer, one of Iron Man's gauntlets, and Captain America's shield, all damaged and lying on the floor. This could indicate that our heroes have been defeated in a big, bad way and the project's tagline, "Reassemble," might suggest that Earth's mightiest heroes will have to start fresh in some way.

We'd love to have more answers about this partnership, The Avengers project, and all of the other games that Marvel and Square Enix have coming down the chute, but we have to wait until 2018 to learn more details. The description gives us the promise of a " universe gamers can play in for years to come," so we're definitely looking forward to more news. In the meantime, we can busy ourselves with all of these games that are dropping in 2017.
