Fallout 4 Getting Enhanced PS4 Pro Support This Week

Bethesda Softworks' esteemed action role-playing game Fallout 4 is getting a pretty exciting update this week, one that will bring enhanced PlayStation 4 Pro support to the title.

Fallout 4's 1.9 update rolled out for PC yesterday, February 6, and included a handful of important features. Bundled in the patch are the PC-exclusive high-resolution texture pack support, an additional "feature" mod category, and enhancements to organization systems that allow players to sort by highest rated and most favorited on a more specific timeline, along with fixes to boost stability and smooth out error messaging and Load Order menu crashes.

The stand-out new feature in the Fallout 4 1.9 patch, however, focuses on PS4 Pro players, who will now receive enhanced support across their powerful console. Gamers who rock the super-charged Sony system will notice upgrades in terms of graphics, including boosts to lighting (hey there, improved godray effects!) and a jump up to native 1440p resolution.

Other features and fixes include:

  • Added number of ratings count to Mods Browsing Menu
  • Added number of favorites count to Mod Details page
  • Added required dependencies to Mod Details page
  • Added latest version number and notes to Mod Details page
  • Improvements to Reporting mods categories

PlayStation 4 Pro support hitting Fallout 4 further shows how the face of console gaming has changed in recent years. With more and more enhancements being added, the PS4 Pro might be the last in the Sony console cycle; we may not ever get a PlayStation 5.
