Horizon Zero Dawn Releases Gorgeous TV, Theatrical Trailer

The hype surrounding Sony's stunning forthcoming action-RPG game Horizon Zero Dawn has been the realest of real. From an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the title's development and the fire-haired hunter-archer protagonist, Aloy, to some pretty sweet game merchandise, casual gamers and invested fans have been on the same page for a while: wanting just a few more glimpses before the game releases. Today, players got exactly what they'd been asking for when Sony released the official television and theatrical trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn.

Entitled "Earth is Ours No More," the trailer (which is more of a commercial, as it will air on screens small and large alike) shows how machine has eclipsed man, and how the humans are intent on reclaiming Earth and restoring balance. This latest look at Horizon Zero Dawn seems to get right to the core of the game's main storyline, and offers players additional insight into what it will be like to play as Aloy.

"In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, pockets of humanity live on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes," the game's official synopsis describes. "Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the Machines – fearsome mechanical creatures of unknown origin." The trailer teases this bold endeavor, stating that the time has come to find out why the world was reclaimed by nature following its fall to darkness — and why its reemergence was tailored to the Machines instead of humans.
