First Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind Gameplay Trailer Released

The ever-popular action-fantasy MMO series The Elder Scrolls Online is getting a new expansion, Morrowind, and today, Bethesda Softworks released the first gameplay trailer for it.

Uploaded to Bethesda's YouTube channel, the introductory sneak peek at the Morrowind expansion shows off the all-new Vvardenfell island and the sprawling areas in which players can battle and explore. Current Elder Scrolls users will gain immediate entry to the island and have access to content that's respective of their player level upon Morrowind's launch. Players new to The Elder Scrolls Online, however, will have the special capability to create fresh characters in Vvardenfell without the restriction of needing to complete any of the game's other content.

The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is set to include a brand-new class called the Warden, the first ranking to be introduced to the game since it launched in 2014. As reported by GameSpot, the Warden will have dual wielding abilities in "melee weapons and nature-based magic," and will also find support in another of the expansion's fresh additions: the combat ally War Bear.

Also touched upon in the gameplay trailer is the Battlegrounds mode that offers 1v1 combat to those Elder Scrolls players who like to get up close and personal when they're taking down their opponents. Battlegrounds is formatted in an arena-style environment, and gamers are dropped in to duke it out to the finish. Check out all of Morrowind's many elements in the video above.

The expansion reaches PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One systems worldwide on June 6. Considering that The Elder Scrolls VI is likely never going to be unveiled, waiting those long few months until Morrowind releases seems a necessary evil for fans of the series.
