Yooka-Laylee Trailer Shows Off Snowy Gameplay Stage

Though it has an adorably goofy name, the Banjo-Kazooie-inspired game Yooka-Laylee seems to take itself seriously when it comes to offering an awesome gameplay experience. Playtonic Games, the developer behind the forthcoming platformer, proved that point today when it released a brand-new trailer that gives Yooka-Laylee hopefuls a look at a snowy new in-game stage.

Entitled "Glitterglaze Glacier," the latest level sees the game's titular pair of protagonists trekking through a seemingly innocent winter wonderland, until a few bumps in the road have Yooka and Laylee shoveling aside snow and bad guys alike. The trailer's official synopsis promises a healthy dose of fun and fights in the Glitterglaze Glacier stage:

"Say hello to one of the coolest levels in existence, Glitterglaze Glacier! Yooka and Laylee's quest will take them to this apparently serene world, but they can expect quite the frosty reception from Capital B's minions... Luckily for our dynamic duo, a new transformation is on hand to plow through any opposition!"

Watch as the duo jump, leap, and fly through the snowy world in the trailer above.

Glitterglaze Glacier joins another quirky level inside Yooka-Laylee, the Las Vegas-themed Capital Cashino run by the nefarious Capital B himself. Much like this just-confirmed wintry stage, Capital Cashino boasts entertainment and enemies abound: "We have a wide range of activities to keep any Lizard-Bat duo content during their stay: Fantastic (absolutely not crooked) games to play, friendly staff, thrilling rides and a cracking nightlife... just stay out of the staff-only areas."

Five total worlds are set to be featured in Yooka-Laylee, and players can likely anticipate to get sneak peeks at them in the coming weeks before the game releases on April 11. We're almost certain it will be well worth the wait, as it made our most anticipated games of 2017 list.
