A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV Now Available
Final Fantasy fans, rejoice: a brand-new spinoff game is now available to play.
Following promises that Final Fantasy's retro-styled beat-em-up side title would be releasing today, Square Enix delivered in a timely fashion. A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV is now available for download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And the cherry on top? The spinoff is absolutely free, and won't require gamers to have the base FFXV game to enjoy the 2D fun.
The DLC-like game is set in an alternate universe 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy XV, and seems to promise fast-paced combat, old-school aesthetics, and a sprinkling of modernized gameplay elements. Read the full A King's Tale synopsis below:
"Taking place a fictitious 30 years before Final Fantasy XV, the action centers around King Regis and his faithful companions (Weskham, Cid and Clarus) defending the royal capital from raiding monsters. A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV features retro-style inspired graphics and a fast-paced combat system. The deep combat system combines intense attacks, devastating magic, mighty summons and unique companion attacks into a singular gaming experience through three diverse locations in the world of Final Fantasy XV."
