Mass Effect: Andromeda Preview Shows Stunning 4K Gameplay
Mass Effect: Andromeda is growing more massive by the minute, and today, it expands in grandeur with a dazzling preview video that shows off the title's high-resolution gameplay.
The upcoming sci-fi RPG from Canadian-based video game developer BioWare, Mass Effect: Andromeda has promised everything from open-world exploration to some saucy interstellar romance options. Now, Andromeda players can also look forward to lush 4K, 60 frames-per-second resolution once they get their hands on the game. BioWare released a preview of the first 13 minutes of gameplay showing off the crisp visuals.
Featured in the clip—which does contain extra Andromeda info, so be wary of watching if you're wanting to go into the game totally blind—are the events that take place after users customize their Ryder (choosing from twins Sara and Scott Ryder). Following a brief introduction to the game, a player's character emerges from a deep cryosleep and trots off for a medical examination carried out by Dr. Lexi T'Perro, who's voiced by none other than Game of Thrones veteran Natalie Dormer.
Andromeda then shifts to the bread-and-butter basics of the in-game systems and leads players through a tutorial, which is where things get more interesting and move into slightly spoiler-y territory. Find out even more in the full video (an IGN exclusive) above.
Players can take home Mass Effect: Andromeda when it releases for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe. In the meantime, find out just how exploration works inside the game before you embark on your first mission.
