Injustice 2 Introduces Poison Ivy In New Gameplay Trailer

The latest gameplay trailer for Injustice 2 highlights a familiar Batman supervillain: Poison Ivy.

Injustice 2 will be released in less than a month, and WB Interactive Entertainment is in the final stages of marketing the highly anticipated title. A few days ago, gamers got a look at what Scarecrow will be like in the fighting game, and now we have an idea of how just strong Poison Ivy will be.

In the gameplay trailer (above), we see Poison Ivy duke it out with Robin and two other Gotham antagonists, Bane and Catwoman (though Catwoman isn't always a villain). When fighting the trio, Poison Ivy displays an impressive arsenal of powers and abilities, including summoning leafy monsters and using plant-based projectiles.

Dr. Pamela Isley, better known as Poison Ivy (voiced by Tasia Valenza of the Arkham series), is described as "an innovative, radical botanical biochemist with a singular goal: make the world safe for plant life to flourish." As for her role in the Injustice sequel, Poison Ivy "joins the Society to further their common interest in bringing mankind to its knees, but at heart, [her] desire is to ensure that in any new world order, flora dominates fauna."

With both Catwoman and Harley Quinn joining Poison Ivy in Injustice 2, fans may be hoping for a Gotham City Sirens spin on the story. We'll just have to wait until Injustice 2 hits shelves on May 16 to see if the girl gang comes together again. In the meantime, find out what other games are going to blow everyone away in 2017.
