How Long Does It Take To Beat Halo Infinite's Campaign?

After a wait that has felt like a lifetime for Master Chief fans, "Halo Infinite" has finally arrived. The surprise release of the "Halo Infinite" multiplayer beta has already been well-received by fans, despite its first community event going slightly off the rails. But for fans who are still reeling from the wild cliffhanger ending of "Halo 5: Guardians," the real star of the show is the game's campaign mode, launching Dec. 8 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

It's been six years since "Guardians," so fans are expecting plenty of bang for their buck. With that in mind, one of the biggest questions surrounding the new "Halo" game's campaign is just how much time players can expect to devote to its completion. Just how long will it take for Master Chief to finish the fight this time? Now that critics have gotten their hands on review copies of the game, the length of the "Halo Infinite" campaign has been revealed.

Halo Infinite's campaign packs plenty of content

Thanks to the semi-open world in "Halo Infinite," players' time spent with the campaign may vary wildly. However, a number of reviews of the game have managed to narrow that window of time down quite a bit. According to the Washington Post's Gene Park, it took him roughly 12 hours to complete the story campaign — at which point he learned that he'd only unlocked about 35% of what the game had to offer. The review written by Aris Notis from Kotaku reported a similar runtime, with Notis' run clocking in at 11 hours and 33% completion.

"Halo Infinite" contains a good amount of side content, including outposts to reclaim from the Banished and High-Value Targets (essentially overpowered enemies lurking in the wild) to hunt down. Players who want to check out every side mission and find every easter egg can probably expect somewhere between 30-40 hours of gameplay.
