Fortnite: How To Get The Phaedra Skin

There's a new skin debuting in "Fortnite" in July, and she's a force to be reckoned with. Even if players haven't gotten ahold of this powerful character yet, it's not too late – there's still time left to get permanent access to the Phaedra skin, the aquatic, gothic witch on everybody's mind.

Donning a sleek all-black look complete with a pointy hat, fishnet leggings, octopus companion, and tattoos, Phaedra comes "from the depths below to the high ground above." Naturally, players have to know how to get access to this fierce and fearsome character.

Described by Epic Games as "a dark sea witch with unknowable power," Phaedra has the ability to block light thanks to her nifty hat. She also has a Shrouded alt Style, because one look just wasn't enough.

Part of the Gothic Nautilus set, Phaedra is currently the only skin with this designation. This could possibly suggest similar characters to be announced, or it could be taken as confirmation that she's in a league of her own. Here's how to get the Phaedra skin.

Unlocking the Phaedra skin

The good news is that players who want to unlock Phaedra should have an easy time doing so, since she's not particularly rare. The bad news? They'll have to pay some real-life cash to get the skin, but it'll come with more perks.

All it takes to permanently add the Phaedra skin to one's collection is a "Fortnite" crew subscription. Since Phaedra is a July special release as part of the Phaedra Unfazed monthly crew pack, gamers will have to commit to the purchase before the 31st. It should be noted that there's no saying if the skin will be made available later on through another avenue.

A "Fortnite" crew subscription is $11.99 a month. For that price, players get full season Battle Pass access, 1,000 V-bucks each month, and a monthly crew pack like Phaedra's. In addition to the Phaedra skin, players who get the July subscription will also receive the full set of perks, which may be helpful to anyone who was on the fence about the decision before.

In addition to the skin itself, the Phaedra Unfazed crew pack comes with the octopus Ceph Back Bling, Stygian Parasol Pickaxe, Gothic Shadesoarer Glider, and Inky Reflection Loading Screen. Players who get to step into Phaedra's shoes seem in for a good time, and it'll be worth watching to see if Epic Games makes her available after July.
