  • Leo is a freelance news writer for Looper.
  • In addition to Looper, he has written about various films for pop culture website The Solute.
  • His years of experience in filmmaking and screenwriting have allowed him to understand the craft of movies inside and out.

Leo's passion for movies began at an early age, and by 14 years old he was already trying his hand at screenwriting and making home movies. When he was 16, he won the 2015 Joplin Award for Best International Screenplay at the BlueCat Screenplay Competition. This success, coupled with his inveterate cinephilia, would later encourage him to pursue a film degree. In the meantime, he also developed a passion for writing about movies, which he has routinely put to use on his Letterboxd for an audience that now counts over 500 followers. In 2021, he started writing for film and pop culture website The Solute, and it was around the same time that he joined Looper as a freelance writer at the news desk, where he's since channeled his knowledge of movies into news stories, explainers, career summaries, and other articles.

Leo is currently pursuing a film degree at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP), the biggest and most renowned film school in Brazil. As a student at FAAP, he has studied the history of film and media intently, racked up ample experience in all filmmaking fields, and directed one short film of his own, "The Hallway Light," currently in post-production.
