Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The New Multiplayer Modes Explained
By CHRISTIAN SMITH
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" boasts over 11 game modes — not including "Warzone 2.0" — for players to choose from, ranging from the classic Team Deathmatch to the grueling Search and Destroy. However, "Modern Warfare 2" also introduced two new multiplayer modes to the series: Knock Out and Prisoner Rescue.
Knock Out is a game mode where two teams of six fight to retain possession of a bag of money until the end of a round or eliminate the entire enemy team; the first team to win five rounds takes the match. There is no respawning, making it similar to Search and Destroy, with the caveat that there isn’t any reviving either, so the stakes are even higher.
Prisoner Rescue is similar to Search and Destroy, but instead of planting bombs, the attacking team must breach their opponents' defenses and extract several prisoners to safety. The match plays out in rounds until one team reaches 500 points, with the attackers getting 100 points per extracted prisoner and the defenders getting 50 points per uncaptured prisoner.
