PS5 PRO LEAK HAS THE RUMOR MILL TURNING
By CODY D. CAMPBELL
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S both launched in late 2020, each representing a huge leap forward for their respective brands, but they both encountered trouble actually reaching the hands of many players, due to supply issues and scalpers selling the systems at exorbitant prices. Because of this, many players were shocked at rumors of “Pro” versions being released in 2023 to 2024.
Electronics company TCL Technology recently gave a presentation suggesting that the company is expecting Xbox and PlayStation to launch "Pro" models of their current consoles between 2023 and 2024. The presentation also showed projected specifications that these updated consoles might offer, such as being able to render 8k images at 60-120 frames per second using an AMD Radeon RX7700XT GPU.
Some people, such as insider Tom Henderson, believe the rumors, although IGN Senior Editorial Producer Mark Medina has voiced his doubts about the supposed launch. Sony and Microsoft have stayed entirely quiet on the matter, leaving only time to tell if there is any truth to it all.
