The Only Way to Preorder the Genesis Mini 2 in North America

The Sega Genesis Mini 2 will be arriving in 2022, but getting your hands on what should be a worthy successor to the original Mini from 2019 might prove to be tricky. The company has said that the global semiconductor shortage is greatly affecting its production of the Sega Genesis Mini 2, and because of this, there's only one way to preorder the console in North America.
Technically, the Mini 2 isn’t being released in North America at all, but you can preorder it through Amazon Japan via Amazon. It will likely ship to you on its release date of October 27, 2022, but since it will be coming from Japan, you’ll have to wait a lot longer to receive it and pay higher costs for shipping, as Prime shipping won’t cover this particular purchase.
Another factor to consider is what the Sega Genesis Mini 2 will include as far as software. According to the official site, "Over 50 Classic Titles!" including some Sega CD titles will be available to play the moment you power on the miniature console. If "Sonic Origins" didn’t satisfy your retro itch, perhaps the Sega Genesis Mini 2's inclusion of "Sonic 3D Blast" will.
