The Untold Truth of Amouranth
By DALEY WILHELM
Cosplayer
Amouranth began her cosplay journey in high school, and her attention to detail and diverse skills were recognized by more than just the cosplay community when she was hired by the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet costume department. In 2016 she was invited by Twitch to stream the intricate process of her cosplay creations.
Brutal Schedule
Amouranth might not be to the point that she’s streaming every waking moment, but she’s always online and dedicates 12 hours daily to streaming. The Twitch star feels guilty when she has a shorter stream, saying, “Sometimes I do eight, but then I feel really bad and feel like I have to work. I don’t get a lot of sleep.”
Male Cosplay
Though she’s best known for her risque cosplay of curvaceous characters, Amouranth can also pull off a male character quite well. Amouranth’s Tumblr shows off her more masculine costumes such as Peter Pan, Jack Frost, and Bilbo Baggins.
Her Patreon
She has been banned on Twitch a handful of times allegedly for promoting her Patreon because the content of her Patreon is well beyond the bounds of Twitch's Community Guidelines. Her Patreon title says it best: “Amouranth is creating Sexy Cosplay & NSFW VIDEOS & Naughty ASMR,” as she hosts "lewd" versions of her cosplay, with various payment tiers gaining more intimate photos and access.
Business Owner
Amouranth doesn’t identify herself as a Twitch streamer or online personality but instead as the owner of the Houston-based business A Charmed Affair. Using her cosplay skills, she began a character company for children’s entertainment and was featured in the Season 10 premiere of “The Littlest Couple” dressed as Elsa, or “The Snow Queen,” for a birthday party.
