We Now Know What the Canceled Marvel MMO Would Have Looked Like
By CHRISTIAN SMITH
Parent company Enad Global 7 canceled Daybreak’s planned Marvel-themed MMO project for the second time in four years. Daybreak had been extremely tight-lipped about the project and shared nothing in the way of gameplay or narrative — not even a teaser trailer — but now fans are finally getting a glimpse into what it may have looked like had it been completed.
UI, UX, and motion designer Ramiro Galan recently posted select screenshots from the Marvel MMO project to his online portfolio that showed the game had a character creation option, allowing players to make their own Marvel hero. The screenshots’ art style, with comic fonts and sound effects, implied the game would’ve doubled down on its comic book roots.
In addition to creating their own hero, players would have also been able to choose their main superpowers as well as their allegiance, be it for the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D, the X-Men, or the Fantastic Four. Even if there's nothing currently out there that shows gameplay, the concept itself seems to have been intriguing enough to at least draw some attention.
