How To Upgrade Your Gear In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

"Ghostbusters" fans just got a new game with the one vs. many action title, "Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed." Players get to team up with friends and work together to chase another player who acts as a ghost, seeking to evade and defeat them. The game has been receiving solid reviews, with the only major criticism being that it just doesn't have much content at launch. Despite this complaint, there is still plenty to do and experience in the game at present.

In addition to being able to create a brand new Ghostbuster to play and having the whole firehouse headquarters to explore, players also have access to lots of different gear when playing on the Ghostbusters' side that can be used to take down their spectral foes.

Aspiring exterminators of the paranormal will, no doubt, want to take advantage of this gear as much as possible. To do so, it will be necessary to upgrade it so that it is working at peak performance in the field. Fortunately, doing so is fairly straightforward once someone gets the hang of it.

Upgrade gear at upgrade benches

As Talk Esport explains, gear can only be upgraded at one of two upgrade tables found in different locations around the Ghostbusters' headquarters. The first table is located in Eddy's lab, tucked away in a back corner on the left side. The second table is outside, in the alley between the two main buildings. Both locations will be visited while going through the game's tutorial so players shouldn't have much trouble finding them. Once at a table, simply interacting with it will pull up the upgrade menu and allow improving and swapping out gear.

As for the gear itself, items are divided into primary and secondary gear. Dualshockers notes that individual pieces of secondary gear cannot be upgraded but can be switched out for other pieces of gear, depending on play style and what challenges the player anticipates in their next match.

Meanwhile, primary gear consists of the Proton Pack, Particle Thrower, P.K.E. Meter, and the Ghost Trap. Each of these can be upgraded to higher levels and also have components installed to further enhance them. The more gear is utilized in the field, the higher its level will go over time.

As for the upgrade components, these are also unlocked by playing the game and leveling up. They can be installed at the same upgrade tables and, as gear levels up, it can receive more advanced components.

The system is simple enough and rewards using equipment in the field as much as possible. The more experience you get with a certain item, the better it will become.
