Cyberpunk 2077: How To Transfer Your Stadia Save

Cloud saving has brought many advancements to the world of gaming. You can simply purchase a game and play it online, which has made gaming on the go easier in a lot of ways. For gamers, the ability to save your progress has benefitted from cloud technology as well. With cloud gaming, you no longer need to buy bulky SD cards or manage your shelf space. All you have to do is connect to the internet and you can pick your game back up wherever you left it.

The world of "Cyberpunk 2077" is playable on current-gen consoles, but now that Google Stadia is officially going to be shutting down its cloud streaming service, players are asking for one more advancement: cross-console saving. Luckily for players of "Cyberpunk 2077," those prayers have been answered. For those who have put hours upon hours into their Stadia edition of "Cyberpunk 2077," here's how to move your progress over to another system before it's lost for good.

All it takes is a few clicks

Utilizing the cross-platform saving function is actually rather simple. According to CD Projekt Red, in order to transfer saves, players can use a program called "Google Takeout." Go to takeout.google.com, then select "Deselect all" and "Stadia" in the "Create a new export" section. After that, choose the file destination for your save, hit "Export once," and make sure your file is a ".zip" file with a 2 GB size. From there, you can move your save file wherever you want. And voila! Your "Cyberpunk 2077" save has been transferred.

When it comes to Stadia's imminent shutdown, not all games are as fortunate as "Cyberpunk 2077," however. Some exclusive games are disappearing forever. Once Google Stadia shuts down for good, many gamers may lose hundreds of hours of gameplay, which is why the company is even going as far as to offer refunds for its games and hardware. At least the party doesn't have to stop in Night City.
