Pokémon Scarlet And Violet: How To Evolve Charcadet Into Ceruledge And Armarouge
As with past entries in the series, Game Freak has made some Pokémon exclusive to "Scarlet" and others exclusive to "Violet." The developer has also introduced certain pocket monsters with branching evolutions that can transform into different Pokémon based on certain factors. In "Scarlet and Violet," those features combine for the Pokémon Charcadet.
The Fire-type Charcadet appears in both versions of the game and can be found throughout the East, West, and South provinces at any time (per Nintendo Life). While all players can catch it, the pint-sized Pokémon's evolutions differ between editions. In "Scarlet," Charcadet evolves into Fire/Psychic-type Armarouge, a noble being that sports a set of empowered armor. In "Violet," Charcadet instead transforms into Fire/Ghost-type Ceruledge, a figure with a real competitive streak that wields flaming swords. No matter the version you've chosen, actually initiating the evolution process will take a bit of legwork.
Collect Bronzor Fragments or Sinistea Chips to evolve Charcadet
Whether playing "Scarlet" or "Violet," trainers that have managed to catch a Charcadet will need to head to the town of Zapapico to obtain a necessary item (per IGN). In "Pokémon Scarlet," players will find a man standing near a small fountain at the town's center offering to trade Auspicious Amor in exchange for 10 Bronzor Fragments. In "Pokémon Violet," they will spot a woman at the same location trading Malicious Armor for 10 Sinistea Chips. Collecting the Auspicious Armor in "Scarlet" and giving it to Charcadet will evolve it into Armarouge, while obtaining the Malicious Armor in "Violet" and giving it to Charcadet will cause it evolve into Ceruledge.
As for collecting the necessary items for trade, players can find Bronzor Fragments by defeating Bronzors and Sinistea Chips by defeating Sinisteas. IGN noted that trainers can locate Bronzors in ruins, ideally at after the sun goes down. Meanwhile, Sinisteas can be found in large numbers at the edges of the town of Alfornada. It won't be quick or easy, but hunting down a Charcadet and then the correct Pokémon for the trade materials will reward players with an evolved Pokémon exclusive to their version of the game that will serve as a solid addition to a battle team thanks to their dual-type.
