The Most Popular Scarlet And Violet Pokémon So Far

Gamers everywhere are knee-deep into the next generation of "Pokémon" with "Pokémon Violet and Scarlet" on the Nintendo Switch. And despite some major technical issues plaguing the game, gamers agree that the new open-world take on the long-running franchise is a step in the right direction. While exploring the vast world of Paldea, gamers will come across all types of unique Pokémon, both old and new. But not all Pokémon get the same amount of love from the fanbase.

Players often argue about who is the best Pokémon in the series. Gen 1 favorites include Arcanine and Mewtwo while Gen 2 fans often list Tyranitar and Umbreon as their favorites. And the ninth generation of "Pokémon" is no exception, with a few Pokémon ranking above the rest, earning them the prestigious spot on the player's squad. And a recent popularity poll details exactly which ninth generation Pokémon gamers unanimously love in "Pokémon Violet and Scarlet," and it may not be what many expected.

Everyone loves Tinkaton

According to a recent "Favorite Pokémon in 2022" Japanese poll that was later uploaded to Reddit, the most popular Pokémon in "Pokémon Violet and Scarlet" so far is Tinkaton. In second place is Clodsire followed by Meowscarada in third.

Tinkaton is a dual-type Fairy and Steel Pokémon that evolves from Tinkastuff at level 38. Although only a little over two feet tall, Tinkaton weirds a massive 220+ pound hammer that can obliterate foes. And this hammer packs a punch as Tinkaton is the only Pokémon able to learn Gigaton Hammer. This ability has a Power of 160 physical, with an accuracy of 100% at only 5 PP. The contrast between the small stature of a pink fairy and the massive hammer it wields makes for an adorable Pokémon everyone loves.

Gamers on Reddit loved to see Tinkaton top the Japanese popularity charts. However, many were surprised by a few other Pokémon's positions on the list. Specifically, many were surprised to see Meowscarada, a new Pokémon that evolves from Sprigatito, get so much love, as many previously complained about the cat Pokémon on Reddit.

Accompanying Tinkaton on the popularity list was some classic Pokémon such as CharizardGengar, and Eevee. But as it turns out, they aren't nearly as popular as the new kid on the block, Tinkaton.
