Where To Find The Nasty Plot TM In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Featuring new adventures — as well as new Pokémon like fan faves Tinkaton, Clodsire, Meowscarada, and more — "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Violet" have a lot to offer, including up to 60 hours of gameplay thanks to the game's open-world design. Taking the massive landscape into account, players might need a little extra help finding particular technical machines (TMs) to train their Pokémon the moves they need to battle as fiercely as possible, and that includes the Nasty Plot TM.

For some trainers, the Nasty Plot TM is particularly appealing due to its Special Attack-enhancing effects. As the in-game description for the item reads, "The user stimulates its brain by thinking bad thoughts. This sharply boosts the user's Sp. Atk stat." Nasty Plot increases Special Attack by not one but two stages, which is clearly quite the boon in battle. Here's how to find the Nasty Plot TM in "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Violet" –- something that can be done in one of two ways.

Explore Area Zero or finish Raifort's final

Both methods to score the Nasty Plot TM are fairly straightforward. One of them involves a visit to Area Zero, AKA the Great Crater of Paldea. Once players get to the region, they'll want to make their way to Research Station No. 2, then climb up a large cliff behind it, followed by another climb up a smaller cliff.

Atop that second cliff is the key to teaching your Pokémon Nasty Plot. The only downside of this otherwise approachable method is the fact that Area Zero is closed until gamers finish the three primary quests of "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Violet," so patience is the name of the game.

The other way to get the Nasty Plot TM is harder, but it can be done sooner along in the game. It involves passing Professor Raifort's history final at Naranja Academy in Mesagoza.

As if all that homework wasn't enough, players will also have to obtain the four Treasures of Ruin Legendaries, AKA Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. Each Legendary requires eight stakes to be searched for and delivered. After that, players have the opportunity to catch the Legendaries.

Once gamers go back to Professor Raifort with these four prized creatures, they'll be gifted the Nasty Plot TM for all their hard work. Though this method is a lot more intense, it's a relief that there are not one but two ways to up one's game with the Nasty Plot TM.
