Will GTA 6 Bring Back One Of The Series' Most Iconic Vehicles?
The first trailer for "Grand Theft Auto 6" is packed so full of small details that fans have been overwhelmed trying to pick out every easter egg. In the days following the trailer's release, gamers have found even more ties to previous games in the series, from the appearance of Tommy Vercetti's Ocean View Hotel to a minuscule cameo from a iconic mode of transportation. As spotted by eagle-eyed "GTA" fanatics, it looks like the Dodo is making a comeback.

During a wide shot of Vice City's beaches and skyline, it's possible to make out a small seaplane up in the righthand corner of the screen. The plane can be seen trailing a long banner, but it's difficult to make out what words are printed on said banner. Some fans are already theorizing that players will have to fly a similar banner message as part of a mission in "GTA 6," but this has yet to be confirmed by Rockstar. Even in the absence of further information, it's exciting to see that even as "GTA" evolves with new characters and better graphics, some things stay the same.
The Dodo has come a long way
Longtime "Grand Theft Auto" players will know that the Dodo has undergone an evolution of its own since it was introduced in "Grand Theft Auto 3." In that game, it featured super short wings and was notoriously difficult to control. Some fans still call this iteration of the Dodo one of the worst vehicles in the series. Thankfully, the Dodo's mechanics (and overall design) have been significantly tightened up in subsequent games, so it is unlikely that the Dodo in "GTA 6" will cause quite as much frustration.
The Dodo became even more of a go-to vehicle in Summer 2021, when Rockstar made it free to all "GTA Online" players. Nowadays, the Dodo is a common sight in the deadly skies of Vinewood and surrounding areas. Despite all of the seaplanes populating Los Santos these days, it looks like there are still some to go around in Vice City. Go ahead and get some flying practice in if you've still got your copy of "GTA 5" handy; you're probably going to need it when "Grand Theft Auto 6" arrives in 2025.
