PlayStation Plus Games For May Revealed: What Remains Of Edith Finch, Overcooked!

Sony has announced its May lineup of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and said lineup is pretty darn good. According to Sony, What Remains of Edith Finch will go free for those with PlayStation Plus this month, as will Overcooked! Just two games, which still stings a little. But two quality games, at least.

What Remains of Edith Finch is what some might refer to as a "walking simulator." You're essentially playing out a story — one about a cursed family and the rather unfortunate ways each member has perished. Don't let that deter you from experiencing it, though. What Remains of Edith Finch isn't a game by any means, so you can finish it in one sitting. And you'll be extremely happy you did. It tells a very moving tale.

Overcooked!, on the other hand, could not be more different. This game doesn't have much of a story to lean on, but truthfully, it doesn't need one. Your job is to quickly prepare ingredients and assemble dishes in a restaurant, readying them as fast as you can in a frantic race to keep up with demand. You can play it solo — but you shouldn't. It's far more fun to have a co-op partner. But be warned: this is the kind of game that can end a relationship.

It's pretty safe to assume that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be much more satisfied with this month's offerings as opposed to last month's. But if you're still itching to play a new game and nothing here tickles your fancy, there's a PlayStation Store sale that might have what you need. It's called the Villains Takeover Sale, and it has titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 for $15 and The Witcher 3 for $12.

What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked! both go live on May 7, which means there's still time to download the games Sony added last month: Conan Exiles and The Surge.
