Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Reveals Tremere Clan

Paradox Interactive has revealed the third clan for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Occultists, warlocks, and blood mages, the Tremere have long lived in the shadows of Kindred society.

"In nights long before Seattle, the Tremere were something else. Back then, as occultists seeking immortality, they found a way to live forever — but not on their own terms," says the official website. "The heavy price they paid bound their magic to blood, with it becoming both the focus of their powers and the cost for using them. The mostly forgotten origin of their curse still colors their interactions with other Kindred, who mistrust them instinctually."

Players who choose the Path of Blood gain access to two new Disciplines: Thaumaturgy and Auspex. Thaumaturgy dishes out heavy damage, twisting an opponent's blood against them with the Skewer, Purge, and Blood Boil powers. Auspex expands the Tremere's mind, allowing them to sense the auras of NPCs, spot their weaknesses, and explore areas via astral projection.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines launched in 2004. The game divided critics at the time, who praised it for its writing and player agency but disparaged its technical flaws. Bloodlines was the final game released by developer Troika Games before their closure in 2005. The title has since become a cult classic.

The sequel to Bloodlines, Bloodlines 2 is being developed by Hardsuit Labs. Set in Seattle, it centers on the aftermath of the mass turning of several humans into vampires known as the Mass Embrace. Players will take on the role of a Thinblood, a new vampire caught in the middle of the investigation into the unsanctioned attack.
