Helldivers 2 Theory Hints At Amazing Xbox News

Months after its initial launch, "Helldivers 2" still has gamers completely locked in. The Second Galactic War is officially underway, and players are doing their best to spread the message of Super Earth while keeping an eye out for signs of an impending Illuminate invasion. Thanks to its mix of excellent combat mechanics and tabletop RPG-style storytelling, "Helldivers 2" has become one of the most engaging games that you can play right now. At least, it's one of the best games to play if you own a PS5 or a PC.

Xbox gamers are stuck on the outside looking in, but "Helldivers 2" players desperately want them to be able to join in on the fun. Super Earth always needs more soldiers, and that's why fans freak out every time there's a new rumor about "Helldivers 2" coming to Xbox. So far, Sony has seemingly remained committed to keeping the game as a PS5 and PC exclusive, but fans haven't given up hope. In fact, some players now believe that the latest Major Order from High Command is a subtle hint from Arrowhead Games that "Helldivers 2" will be landing on Xbox soon.

Prepare the training grounds (for Xbox players?)

High Command is apparently getting ready for a massive expansion of the war. A new Major Order says, among other things, "Billions of able-bodied citizens from across the Federation have already volunteered for conscription. To train these new recruits, massive new facilities are being erected on a small number of lightly-populated planets." The Helldivers are being tasked with defending these planets until all of these training facilities can be built.

Fans have naturally really latched onto the concept of new recruits joining the war, and some think that this latest development is a bit of meta commentary hinting at Xbox players getting access to the game soon. Others aren't quite convinced, arguing out that if there really was an Xbox release coming, Arrowhead probably wouldn't attach any planned announcements to an in-game event that players could technically fail.

The recruitment of Xbox players is the most exciting possibility here, but some fans think there are other new features that could more easily be attached to this order. The training facilities could be the testing areas for new weapons that fans have wanted for quite some time. They could also be laying the groundwork for a new stratagem that allows Helldivers to call in extra support soldiers when a mission goes up in flames. Those theories are probably more likely to be true, but for the sake of Xbox players everywhere, we'll keep our fingers crossed.
