Apex Legends Season 3 Release Date, Battle Pass, Characters And Map

In all likelihood, Apex Legends Season 2 is in its final few weeks. That means we can get the hype train officially chugging for Season 3, which will undoubtedly bring more items to earn, guns to shoot, and characters to play as when it arrives. We don't have every single detail of Apex Legends Season 3 nailed down, but we've gathered what we do know in the meantime.

Rest assured that when more info becomes available, we'll be updating this space. Now, on to what we've figured out so far.

What is the Apex Legends Season 3 release date?

We live by a very simple rule when it comes to Apex Legends and its release dates: we'll know the exact launch date of a new season when Respawn tells us. After a bit of waiting, we finally have it.

Apex Legends Season 3 kicks off on Oct. 1, and like past seasons in the game, we're expecting it to last approximately three months. That would put the end of Season 3 right around the beginning of the new year.

What can we expect in the Apex Legends Season 3 battle pass?

Apex Legends players are always excited about new seasons for a variety of reasons. But one big draw is the fact that new loot will be added to the game, especially inside its battle pass.

Leaks from a GameStop managers conference gave us a look at a Halloween-themed Gibraltar skin (pictured above) that could be coming to Apex Legends in Season 3. Unfortunately, we're not sure if that'll be part of the battle pass or part of some other limited time event. And if it's the latter, when we really have nothing else to show as far as potential battle pass loot is concerned.

Be sure to check back here in the near future, though; there's a good chance we'll get to see some of what the battle pass has to offer before too long.

Which new characters are coming in Apex Legends Season 3?

We don't have many slam dunks in terms of what we can expect from Apex Legends Season 3. But if there is one at all, it's Crypto.

In case you missed it, Crypto was the character who set off an EMP in the Season 2 trailer, destroying the Repulsor Tower and inviting all sorts of creatures onto the island of Kings Canyon. After that, Crypto was leaked as an upcoming character in Apex Legends. And recently, he's actually been showing up in Kings Canyon during matches.

You can almost certainly expect Crypto to officially join the roster when Apex Legends Season 3 arrives. As for what role he'll play in your squad: we don't know yet.

Will there be any map changes for Apex Legends Season 3?

Yes! As it so happens, a new map is being introduced into Apex Legends with the start of Season 3. It's called World's Edge, and it looks much different than the Kings Canyon map we've come to know over the past few months.

Will World's Edge be replacing Kings Canyon permanently? That's a question we're not able to answer right now. But we may have a better sense of where World's Edge fits into future plans for Apex Legends when Season 3 kicks off on Oct. 1.
