How Long Does It Take To Beat Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare?

Did you know a new Call of Duty game out today? Yeah, it's kind of a big deal. The latest entry in this long running Activision franchise is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a game that attempts to reboot the popular CoD subseries for the present day. In essence: it's modern Modern Warfare. And like the prior game of the same name, it includes a campaign.

How long does that campaign take to beat? Fortunately, a few outlets have helped us out by including some "time to beat" numbers in their day one reviews.

Game Informer, for instance, recorded a campaign completion time of "roughly five hours." Games Radar took slightly longer to get through Modern Warfare's story mode, stating that it took around eight hours to beat. GameSpot notched a time of five hours for the game's campaign, which the outlet's reviewer noted was played on "normal" difficulty. And PC Gamer couldn't quite pin down one specific number, estimating the campaign's length at somewhere between six to eight hours.

Averaged out, it'll take the average player a little more than six hours to complete Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The completion times for most players will fall in the five to eight hour range.

Is that all the time you'll spend with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? If you're a huge fan of the series, the answer is probably no. Chances are, if you're playing CoD, you're not just playing for the campaign: you're also very interested in the game's various multiplayer modes. You'll likely sink a lot of time into the multiplayer side of Modern Warfare once you wrap up the game's relatively short campaign. So if you're concerned about the replayability of this title, don't be. You'll more than likely have gotten your money's worth once you shelve Modern Warfare for whatever Call of Duty game comes out next year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you want a solid (but short) campaign and multiplayer modes that'll keep you busy for months to come, you might want to consider picking it up.
