Sims 4: Discover University Trailer Captures The Highs And Lows Of College Life

College life is defined by ups and downs, a glorious and often painful experience that The Sims 4: Discover University gameplay trailer manages to capture during its 1 minute and 40 second run time.

The trailer takes us on a lightning fast journey covering one student's freshman year at university. Within a few blinks of the eye, the perky protagonist switches housing, moves off campus, falls in love, breaks up, explores several extracurricular activities, transfers schools, joins a secret society, drinks way too much, loses her scholarship, takes out a loan, and then manages to resurrect her flagging grades, all while trying to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life.

The gameplay montage does a great job highlighting many of the expansion's most exciting features. You'll get to choose between two schools—the historical University of Britechester or the more modern Foxbury Institute—and whether you live in the dorms or off campus. There's a large selection of classes to enroll in, ranging from biology and art history to computer science and villainy (yes, you read that right.) How often you attend class and the amount of assignments you complete will affect your grades, ultimately determining how successful you are in your career path.

For the full college experience, you can take advantage of Discover University's wealth of activities and school organizations or devote all your time to studying and acing tests. Some of the pastimes include juice pong, juggling, robotics club, and debate club. You can also cultivate your Sim's personal style, expressing their personality through fashion and dorm room decor. You can even show some school spirit by wearing your school's colors and pulling pranks on your school's rival.
