How Long Does It Take To Beat Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle And The Millionaires' Conspiracy?

The charming Professor Layton puzzle game series has long been a staple for mobile and Nintendo 3DS gamers. But, now that the Nintendo Switch has largely taken the place of the Nintendo 3DS, it only makes sense that the latest installment in the series has been ported to the Switch. So, how long does it take to beat Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy?

As with any puzzle game, the amount of time it takes a player to finish the game will depend on how good they are at solving puzzles. Layton's Mystery Journey doesn't have incredibly difficult puzzles to solve, which has been a source of annoyance for many reviewers. In the game, players will get to play as Professor Layton's daughter, Katrielle, as she tries to solve the mystery of her father's disappearance with her talking dog sidekick, the aptly named Sherl O.C. Kholmes.

According to the site How Long to Beat, playing through only the main story should take the average player a little over 18 hours. If, however, you want to play through the main story and the extra side missions, you're looking at about 24 hours.

Oddly enough, for players wishing to complete every quest and get every achievement, the total time doesn't go up much from the other playthroughs. Most players were able to get all achievements and play all quests in just 30 hours. While your Switch may not have enough battery life to get through the entire game in one sitting without being plugged in, you should be able to learn everything the game has to offer without having to dedicate too much time.

Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy was first released on mobile and Nintendo 3DS in 2017 before launching for the Switch in Japan in 2018. As of November 8, 2019, it's available for Switch users worldwide.
