2D Cyberpunk Adventure Resolutiion Announced For 2020 Release

Deck13 Spotlight and Monolith of Minds have announced Resolutiion, an action adventure set in a grim cyberpunk setting.

The game, which looks and feels a lot like Hyper Light Drifter, centers on the journey of "an old killer" and a "curious AI" through "a dreamscape of madmen and sane animals." From dirty jokes and an epic soundtrack to punishing combat and layered storytelling, Resolutiion promises a high-intensity experience that blurs the line between hero and villain.

You'll encounter a diverse cast of characters and critters as you gather strange weapons and stories in an effort to piece together the world's fractured history. The mystery of the Cradles lies at the heart of this narrative, one that spans ten distinct regions. Challenging puzzles, brutal battles, and gruesome bosses populate these environments.

"Explore a fractured future, gathering weird weapons and stories, to piece together the past: a friend betrayed, a family broken, worlds at war," says the official description. "To solve the mystery of the Cradles take on a multi-cultural-mashup of cynical gods, emotional machines, zealots, luddites, and furry critters in a world that doesn't care if it confuses or kills you—oh hey, a kitty!"

Resolutiion serves as an homage to the classics of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System era. "Our goal is to combine the fun we had in our childhood with a multi layered story which hopefully will make the players thoughtful," said Richard Beyer, one of Monolith of Minds' co-founders. "And surprise them with an artistic expedition through a futuristic nightmare," added his brother, Gunther.

Resolutiion comes to PC in all its wacky glory in March 2020. Though it's difficult to tell at this early stage, hopefully its gameplay and story will distinguish it from the wildly popular Hyper Light Drifter as accusations of plagiarism have already begun to pop up.
