Rainbow Six: Siege Offering Free Weekend As Part Of Money Heist Crossover

Another free weekend is on its way to Rainbow Six: Siege, this time as part of a special crossover with Netflix's Money Heist.

The Money Heist event runs from November 20 through November 25. You'll take part in a special version of Hostage mode that unfolds on the Bank map. As an Attacker or Defender, you'll fight over a hostage dressed in the iconic mask and red jumpsuit from the series. You can also purchase the same look for Hibana and Vigil.

Beyond the new twist on Hostage mode, you'll have the opportunity to pickup two new bundles from the shop. Hibana's Heist Bundle contains the Red Jumpsuit uniform, Emboldened headgear, Tokyo charm, and Regal Mint weapon skin for the TYPE-89. Vigil's Accomplice Bundle comes with the Red Jumpsuit uniform, Nameless headgear, The Surrealist charm, and Fresh Paper weapon skin for the K1A. The bundles will remain available for approximately a year after the special event ends should you decide to wait and add them to your collection at a later date.

The new bundles cost 1680 R6 credits each. In honor of the collaboration, Ubisoft is making the full game free to play from November 21 through November 24. Depending on the retailer, you'll also be able to purchase Rainbow Six: Siege for up to 70% off in the coming days.

The crossover event arrives on the heels of the revelation that Ubisoft has renewed their efforts to adapt Rainbow Six: Siege for the Asian market. They've set their sights on the Chinese esports audience and plan to adjust the game to fit the country's strict censorship laws. What affect these adjustments will have on other regions remains unclear; Ubisoft's previous decision to conform to Chinese regulations did not go over well with players. Hopefully, they won't try to push another globally censored version of the game.
