Sonic Joins Dragon Ball Z In This Rad Mod

We know that Sonic the Hedgehog has a long history of busting robots and saving little animals. However, have you ever wondered what would happen if Sonic had to face the likes of Cell or Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z? Thanks to a modder called Beatz, we now have a pretty good idea. In this mod, Beatz has re-skinned the character of Gohan and added Sonic the Hedgehog to the recently-released Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

On his Twitter account, Beatz showed off a few clips of this new mod in action. The first simply shows Sonic flying around Kakarot's open world map, getting into a few tussles with robots. The second clip gets much more involved, showing us Sonic in a cutscene and beginning a battle to the death against the android Cell.

Sure, it's a little weird to see Sonic fire an energy blast as he growls, "If anyone doesn't deserve to be a part of this world, it's you!" But honestly, this isn't really the weirdest thing we've seen Sonic do in his long history. Remember that time he got turned into a killer robot and destroyed an entire village? We do.

This is honestly a natural fit for the super fast hedgehog. Since Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Genesis, Sonic has been able to transform into a golden, powered-up version of himself (sound familiar?) and wreck the baddies. In most games, the Super Sonic form gives him enhanced speed and invulnerability from attacks.

Sonic the Hedgehog isn't the first beloved character to find himself modded into a Dragon Ball Z game. Shaggy from Scooby-Doo has also made notable (non-sanctioned) appearances in such DBZ-centric titles as Jump Force and Dragon Ball FighterZ. According to Beatz, the full Sonic mod should be released soon, following some tweaks. Now all we need is for Sonic and Shaggy to throw down and prove who is the mightiest of all.
