How Long Does It Take To Beat Yakuza 5?
The latest remastered Yakuza game is about to be completed. First announced last summer, Yakuza 5 Remastered will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 11.
Yakuza 5 continues the twisting and occasionally insane story of the crime families of Japan. Though it continues the story of main series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, Yakuza 5 sees the world opening up in several news ways, thanks to the addition of four other playable protagonists. With so many characters to choose from, you may be wondering how long it would take to beat Yakuza 5 Remastered.
While Yakuza 5 Remastered brings with it a crisp graphical face-lift, the game itself remains the same as the original release. According to How Long To Beat, that means the main story of the game can be completed in about 41 hours. However, the game's various side missions will add a couple dozen hours, clocking in at about 68 hours of play.
However, completionists who want to master all of the various mini-games and find every little secret the game has to offer will more or less double their playtime. The game features two different New Game modes that will bring your playtime closer to a staggering 124 hours. That's a lotta crime.
When can you play Yakuza 5?
With so much to do, we're sure you're chomping at the bit to revisit Yakuza 5 or check it out for the very first time. The release strategy for the latest round of Yakuza remasters was kind of an interesting one.
Yakuza 5 Remastered is part of the Yakuza Remastered Collection. While the games are available for purchase in a bundle, they have been released in a rather episodic way. Yakuza 3 Remastered was released last summer, while Yakuza 4 followed in October. With the Feb. 11 release of Yakuza 5, the entire bundle will be available digitally and in a physical format.
Judging by the reviews of the Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 remasters, we can anticipate that Yakuza 5 will have the same level of quality. Now that you know how much time to expect to spend in the mean streets of Japan, hopefully you'll be ready to dive in when Yakuza 5 Remastered arrives Feb. 11.
