Streamers Who Got Ripped After They Got Famous
When most people think about streamers, they don't picture health nuts. People tend to imagine that all streamers are either gamers or just hanging out with their friends making jokes on camera to an audience on the internet. That's certainly how most streamers start their career, but once they get going, a lot of them make some dramatic transformations in their own lives.
Getting fit is something quite a few streamers put at the top of their priority list. Once they've got some money from building a successful channel on Twitch or YouTube, plenty of streamers pay for a gym membership or hire a personal trainer. Not everyone likes to advertise their lifestyle transformation, but some streamers have realized that getting ripped is also a great way to get more eyes on their content. Here are some streamers who hit the gym and got shredded after they got famous.
PewDiePie
Today he's one of the biggest streamers in history, but before all the fame, PewDiePie was an ordinary teenager named Felix Kjellberg. He grew up in Sweden and, from an early age, he was an avid gamer. That's what pulled PewDiePie into the streaming world in the first place, and his interest in bodybuilding came much later. His fans had no idea that he'd gotten ripped until the streamer's now-wife Marzia posted a shirtless pic on Instagram in May 2020. She probably didn't expect the six-pack reveal to break the internet — or, at least, PewDiePie's piece of it. The picture received well over a million likes, and a week after it went up on Instagram, PewDiePie uploaded a YouTube video reacting to the internet's response.
In the video, PewDiePie said that moderators had to temporarily close down his Reddit page because fans overwhelmed it with reposts of PewDiePie's shirtless pic and questions about his body transformation. He decided to explain his workout routine in the video, but he seemed genuinely surprised that so many people wanted to learn about it. "I wasn't planning to talk about it or make a video like this in a long time, at least six months to a year for me to actually gain some muscle," he said, adding, "I'm not ripped. I'm lean." His fans disagreed, however, and they were thrilled to get a peak at PewDiePie's daily workout.
Kai Cenat
Kai Cenat was 2023's fastest-growing streamer, and his community has only gotten bigger since then. Cenat first started making YouTube videos in 2018 when he was in high school. Eventually he moved to Twitch and found millions of fans who love watching him play video games, make IRL streams, or simply hang out with his friends on camera. Cenat is known as a goofy content creator who enjoys silly pranks and stunts, so even some of his own fans don't realize that he's ripped.
In 2024, Cenat started taking fitness more seriously than he had before, sharing videos of himself preparing for his workouts with protein drinks and keeping his community updated about his progress. Fans on X dubbed it his "Glow Arc" and tweeted out their support for the streamer's new focus in life. As part of his Mafiathon streaming marathon, Cenat connected with a local gym and fitness trainer in Georgia. He spent 30 days undergoing intense workouts to transform his body, and fans were impressed by the amount of muscle he was able to pack on in such a short amount of time. Since then, Cenat has done other 30-day marathons at the gym to keep up his physique and add even more muscle.
Tfue
Snap transformations will always get the most attention online, but some streamers know that getting ripped takes time. Tfue made a three month-long commitment to hit the gym and transform his body at the start of 2020. He had help from Faze Clan's fitness trainer, Faze Jasper, and together they came up with a plan to get Tfue ripped.
In a YouTube video on his channel, Jasper explained that even though he had worked with Tfue in the past, their 2020 plan yielded the best results. That's largely because Jasper designed the plan to combat the quietly dangerous things about streaming: all the sitting. "He's on his PC for a majority of the day," Jasper said in the video. "There's nothing wrong with that, but if you want to get in shape, you also have to increase your activity outside of that gaming session." Jasper gave Tfue a four day-per-week plan that included high intensity cardio in addition to the weightlifting Tfue would need to bulk up.
By the end of his three month journey, Tfue had a full six pack and he'd put on at least 15 pounds of muscle. That's pretty impressive for a professional content creator just giving it his all. By documenting the process, Tfue showed off all the effort he put in, but he also showed his audience exactly what it takes to get the results he did from working out.
Sonii
Sonii is a master MMORPG player. Fans have been watching him play games like "World of Warcraft" and "RuneScape" for years. Sonii's built a huge reputation on being a genuine fantasy gaming nerd, but swords and sorcery aren't his only interests: Sonii's got the body of a pro athlete, and after he gained a large following online, he briefly made his fitness routine an integral part of his brand.
Sonii posted his first workout video on YouTube in 2015. At the time he was already busy on Twitch, and he was really taking a shot in the dark with a new form of content on YouTube. In the video Sonii goes about his usual workout routine, but throughout his gym session he keeps questioning which exercises his fans would want to see most. Sonii's community responded to that first video in a big way, and it's still one of the most-viewed videos on Sonii's YouTube channel.
After the success of that first video, Sonii started regularly uploading workout vlogs to YouTube. Over time he learned how to incorporate his audience's interests into his personal routine, and fitness content basically dominated the channel for years. Nowadays Sonii almost exclusively produces gaming content, but working out is still a massive part of his everyday life.
Keemstar
Keemstar is a streamer and podcaster who's known for playing competitive games and hosting shows like "Drama Alert" and "Lolcow Live." Keemstar is a fitness fanatic who also spends a good chunk of his time covering combat sports on his YouTube channel. Keemstar's love of bodybuilding fits with the persona that he's developed online. He presents himself as extremely competitive and hyper masculine, but it was actually his streaming career that brought Keemstar to his gym-heavy lifestyle.
"I was uncomfortable. I'm on camera, millions of people are watching me every day," Keemstar revealed in a YouTube video about how he first started working out. "I hate when people say that, like, 'I want to do this to inspire other people,'" Keemstar said, adding, "It's really for selfish reasons. I want to look good, you know. I want to feel good." Keemstar encouraged others to find selfish reasons to get healthy because he thinks that makes for better motivation. That approach definitely seems to have worked out for him, considering his fitness journey began nearly a decade ago.
HasanAbi
With tens of thousands of people watching him for eight hours at a time each day, HasanAbi is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, but it would be a stretch to call him a gamer. HasanAbi opens Steam from time to time, but really he's a political commentator who doesn't shy away from talking about controversial topics on his stream. In 2025 HasanAbi started to get attention from some major mainstream news outlets that were amazed by how he'd built such a strong community of mostly young men around a channel dedicated to leftist politics
HasanAbi's streams are entirely dedicated to news and politics, but when he's not on camera, he's often at the gym. HasanAbi works out for himself, but he's aware that being ripped has a big effect on his appeal to his audience. "In the most reductive way, it just comes down to confidence — that's what people are talking about when it comes to masculinity," the streamer told The New York Times about his popularity among young men.
HasanAbi's fans don't just love that the streamer is ripped. They appreciate that they've gotten to see him transform his body over the course of years. On Reddit fans post photos showing HasanAbii's workout progress over the years, and the results are dramatic. Like some other streamers on this list, HasanAbi has inspired his fanbase to care about their own health by sharing his fitness journey with them.
IShowSpeed
Thanks to his boisterous personality, intense commitment to streaming, and willingness to injure himself for good content, IShowSpeed has built up a massive following in a relatively short period of time. Speed's channel blew up in 2022, and since then he's been traveling the world and making videos with his friends. There are some tragic details about Speed's life, but his streaming career isn't one of them — and neither is his workout routine.
Fans got to watch when Speed first started dedicating more of his time to his health. In 2022, Speed was working with trainers and spending some time at the gym, but his workout routine was just ramping up. By 2023, Speed was grinding at the gym with more intensity. The hard work didn't make Speed unrecognizable, but it did give him jacked biceps and abs. Fitness hasn't necessarily become a part of Speed's brand online, though it's definitely a regular fixture in his life now. Like other streamers, Speed found out that he could invest the money from his success into his own body.
