Rockstar Unlists GTA Online Trailer Making Fun Of GTA 6 Delay
Gamers all across the world are not-so-patiently awaiting the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6," with Rockstar's latest game almost guaranteed to become the biggest video game release of all time. For now, though, the devs are trying to make the wait a little more bearable with new content for "GTA Online." Rockstar recently released a trailer to promote that game's final update, but some fans think the company is making fun of them.
Not all that long ago, Rockstar gave fans disappointing news about the "GTA 6" release date. The most anticipated game in history got struck with a delay and is currently slated for release in May 2026. The latest "GTA Online" trailer opened with a voice-over saying, "I'm afraid our time isn't up yet," which didn't go over terribly well with the fans. Many of them thought that Rockstar was taunting them about the "GTA 6" delay, and weren't happy about it.
Of course, Rockstar hasn't officially commented on the trailer, but it did something else that's rather telling. The "GTA Online" trailer is now unlisted on YouTube, so only people with a direct link can view the video. That's slowed down traffic to the trailer, and now just about everyone is convinced that Rockstar was trying to make a cheeky "GTA 6" reference in the clip.
Fans had big reactions to that little line
The new "GTA Online" trailer advertises that new content is coming to the game and offers players $4 million in Career Mode to get them up to speed. Most of the people who saw the video before it was unlisted didn't even notice those details, however, because of that telling line in the first few seconds. We can't say for sure why Rockstar unlisted its "GTA Online" trailer, but we do know that the move prevented plenty of people from seeing it. The clip racked up fewer than 40,000 views in its first two days, basically the opposite of what happened when the "GTA 6" trailer broke the internet.
Rockstar has more or less successfully hidden the video, but just about everyone who sees it thinks the company is taunting them. "'I'm afraid our time isn't up yet' is a crazy quote to use for a 12 year old game," wrote one commenter under the clip. Many others shared similar feelings, with some people even suggesting that the line is a hint that Rockstar will delay "GTA 6" again. Others were more optimistic. "This gave me chills man," wrote one fan, adding, "Like they know we're at the home stretch and are getting ready to reveal something big."
Based on everything we know about "GTA 6," it's hard to imagine what else Rockstar might reveal ahead of the game's release. Aside from announcing a new release date, there's little Rockstar can do to add to the hype. The latest "GTA Online" trailer just proves that Rockstar's fans are only interested in one thing right now.
