GTA 6's Official Cover Art And Pre-Order Date Revealed
Rockstar Games has kept details surrounding "Grand Theft Auto 6" tightly under wraps for years, but it recently unveiled big news about the game: The official website and Rockstar's various social media accounts have shared its pre-order date and cover art. Comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick have indicated that the "GTA 6" will drop on November 19, 2026, and while that's not official yet, the confirmation of the pre-order date seems to tally — you'll be able to put your name down for a copy of the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 25, 2026, though "GTA 6" is facing a ban in one country already.
The announcement came with the game's official art work, which takes on the multi-paneled design that the franchise has become known for. In addition to vehicles and other images teasing a return to Vice City for the game's setting, the artwork showcases several of the story's main characters. This includes criminal couple Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the game's protagonists, who are in the top center panel. Other known characters who appear on the cover include Jason's slovenly friend Cal Hampton and local business mogul Boobie Ike.
Grand Theft Auto 6 goes back to Leonida
Though "Grand Theft Auto 6" is set mainly in Vice City, the game isn't confined to the Miami-inspired coastal metropolis: It expands the setting to the entire state of Leonida, which is the "GTA" version of Florida. This serves as the backdrop for Jason and Lucia's adventure as they become increasingly involved in the state's criminal activities and enterprises. But, while Rockstar has given us some glimpses at in-game imagery from "GTA 6," it has yet to actually show off gameplay footage, signaling how secretive it's become.
There has been no official word about the game's online features, which is frustrating in light of how massive "Grand Theft Auto Online" has become. There are rumors that "GTA 6" could actually make some players millionaires via user-generated content, but this has yet to be confirmed. All in all, Rockstar has been keeping its cards close to the chest regarding what is shaping up to be its biggest game of all time. But with an apparent release date, a confirmed pre-order window, and the cover art reveal, "Grand Theft Auto 6" is finally starting to feel like a reality.
